Trimming nails carries risk
Cutting or grinding a nail too far reaches the quick, which contains nerve and blood supply. It bleeds and it hurts. Dogs in pain or fear may bite or scratch.
Take responsibility for your own judgement about whether your dog is a candidate for at-home nail care. Stop if your dog is distressed. If bleeding does not stop within a few minutes, call your veterinarian.
Talk to a vet first if your dog has
- A medical condition affecting nails, paws, or circulation
- An existing nail or paw injury
- Dark nails where the quick is not visible
- A history of fear, aggression, or panic around handling
- Any recent surgery or medication affecting behavior
Results vary
We publish an introduction plan because we believe it is the part most people are never given. We do not claim it works for every dog. Some dogs need a professional. Some need sedation-free cooperative care training with a behavior professional. Some need a vet.

Product limitations
This grinder is built for small and medium dogs. It is not suitable for large dogs with thick nails. We would rather say so here than take the return.
